Selling two cockerels. Hatched in January in hopes of bring a new line into my daughters reds to improve egg laying. Not dark enough for show. Light under coat. Friendly with each other and people. Been shown for 4h. Only beaten in show by a darker rir. Need to sell to find a darker...
For Sale: A beautiful true Rhode Island Red cockerel.
Johnny is 7 months old. He is a beautiful dark mahogany red. Show quality. Our other rooster stole his ladies, so he is now trying to breed our bantam hens. He is just too big for that, so he needs a new home. Nice temperment with people...
Amish in our area will kill and process our broilers for $1.60 each. Well worth it. Don't mind dropping them off and picking up dead birds. Just can't kill them myself. Kind of funny seeing that I am an avid deer and turkey hunter. Can't kill a coon I catch in a trap either. Makes no...
Hello. I always followed the don't help rule, but after this last hatch, I am regreting that I didn't. Had an egg that got itself over half unzipped (took 20 hours to get that far). I fell asleep expecting to wake up to a chick. What happened was the egg rolled while it was trying to hatch...
Hello. My daughter needs a Show Quality Bantam Brahma or Cochin Hen for 4H. Her hen for the fair has died. She has gotten permission from the poultry committee to replace her for showmanship purposes only, but can't show the chicken in its class. Need a hen from 8 months to a year old that...
She was doing badly yesterday, so I wormed her again early. She seems more active tonight, but still is losing weight. Wondering if that is normal after worming a heavily worm infest chicken. Still haven't seem any worms, but I know that may not matter.
I have been giving her poultry vitamins directly into her mouth every couple of days. She is loosing weight again. Actually lost .6 oz the day I wormed and another .6 oz since yesterday. I am hoping this is just the worms dying and losing their weight. I still haven't found any worms in her...
Here is one of our fabulous show quality RIR roosters. Just 7 months old. His name is Dragon. My 12 year old carries him around. She will be showing him at our county fair in Sept.
Glad to see I am not the only one with this problem. I am also new to guinea fowl. I had four and was told how to teach them where home is. That wasn't a problem. Kept them in coop for six weeks. Finally, got them to go out. Need the coop for my bantam chickens. Everyone told me guineas...
Dont do Facebook, just dont understand it. Anyway. I wormed her with that other wormer and she is much better today. She is staying awake more and when she falls asleep she wakes herself up. Hopefully, it is all going to keep improving. Thanks.
Where did you buy your chicks? Hatchery RIRs are not true RIRs. They are considered utility birds as they are breed to increase egg production not for appearance. Could just be a genetic mixup somehow. The sex wouldn't make a difference in appearance of the chick if they are RIRs, even...
