    Egg broke inside chiken

I was sort of worried about underlying conditions. Honestly it's sort of a relief that I'll at least know. Bad as it is, at least she won't have to suffer because of my ignorance. Thank you for letting me know.

    Egg broke inside chiken

She's not walking, but she was sitting up actually making a little noise. Her having water belly is likely, but nonetheless thank you for your help. At least this we she can be treated at all. If she can bounce back I'm sure she will.

    Egg broke inside chiken

How do I actually clean inside her vent? I really don't wanna just wing it. The other advice is straight forward, but I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to go about that.

    Egg broke inside chiken

I believe it to be fluid, as she does appear swollen, and when prodded it's "all give"- there's nothing solid. The fluid is built up from just under her right hip- the direction she's been leaning- to the area half an inch under her vent. I haven't watched egg come out of her but she's sticky on...

    Egg broke inside chiken

I feel these details could be relevant, but thought if them after the initial post. She's right around 2 years old, and was egg bound less than a month ago. She's sitting mostly by leaning on her side with her leg cocked out behind her, and tries to balance with her wings when disturbed. I'm...

    Egg broke inside chiken

She's been egg bound for a couple days, and couldn't walk I assume cause of where the egg was In her. Checked today and Our other chickens were trying to kill her seemingly. Got to her before they did, but upon checking there's a fluid where the egg should be. I'm certain that egg has broke. I...

    Chicken walking funny

She's about 2 years old- maybe month older or younger. She lays regularly, and I the most unusual thing I've seen laid by any of my chickens was a soft egg- this was not recent, and was not a brown egg- which black Sussex lay. There was never anything really obvious visually. I only palpated it...

    Chicken walking funny

I don't know how to delete, so until I find it. UPDATE I made this post before checking on her this afternoon. Read some recommended posts, googled some stuff, and went and checked. The mass under her is smaller and she's not squatting as bad. Seems to be on the recovery. Still don't know what...

    Chicken walking funny

I have a black Sussex that's walking, standing, etc. As though she's always squatting. I would assume she's egg bound but she's been like this for about 5 days. She has a protrusion from right around where a bound egg would be, but it's not solid. I don't know what the deal is. It could be some...

Human foods that are safe for make-shift supplements

I had a health issue with a year old hen, I have copied the relavent info just hereafter. her comb is a bit pale, though her breast bone is no different to her mer hefty flock mates. I don't think it's servere enough for a diagnosis, but her symptoms see to fit Perosis, and the heat likely...

Odd behaviour that could be bad

Okay finally posting. So this morning she was actually mostly fine. I think I got a little over-worried cause she would go almost limp in my hands- I think she just really likes being held and carried around- she's super curious. That being said her comb is a bit pale, though her breast bone is...

Odd behaviour that could be bad

That's fair. She's always been one of my thinnest birds, she's just slim. I read an article on mereks, then a page with a few illnesses causing neurological problems, and it's definitely nothing as serious as most of the things there. After reading what I found there I think one manner of...

Odd behaviour that could be bad

I have a chicken that once separated I noted that so long as she doesn't need to react to anything she's fine. However she acts almost like it takes her like 1.5 seconds too long to realize she needs to correct. Her balance is fine on flat land, but if she has to "scurry" she'll stumble, and I...
