I had a look at the winners of the Barred Rock competition. I really like this breed. It's very pretty.I don't think it gets as cold with us as it does up North in Canada, so they should be alright. I'm definitely leaning towards those pretties. A friendly temperament would be of the good :)...

A reviewer on the petco page said, that the cricket quenchers are basically just polyacrylamide copolymer, a bit of water and calcium. Of course, that's all that's needed, so the yellow dye leaching out shouldn't be a problem, I think. maybe it's even better?
