    Well, the roo has been out for 3 weeks now, so I guess I'll replace them with some wyandots from a friend. poor momma. She wants some babies so bad. Also, I posted on another thread, she or one of the other hens ate one of the eggs last night. What could be causing this?

    I found a chicken processor

    I found someone about an hour from me who will do it for $2 a bird while I wait. That includes the vacuum packing. I wouldn't go that far but I have business there that day anyways. So 2 for the price of one gas trip. Turkeys are $3.

    My coop isnt very big. 8x10 i think. She now has 7 eggs. When should I candle them ? Will she eventually get off the nest to eat and drink?

    One of my hens has gone broody and I finally let her keep 5 eggs. Will the chicks be ok if i let her hatch them out in the coop with the other hens? Or should I move them to a separate coop? Also, my rooster flew the coop 3 weeks ago. Will this hens eggs still be fertile?

    getting those stubborn girls to start laying AGAIN!!!!!

    Ihaven't had any eggs since before thanksgiving, so i am definitely going to try it. I live in upstate ny and its been cold and dark here for a long time. I am also going to try the rooster thing as i have 7 from a broody hen last summer. I'll let you know. Wanda
