    A better breed than Cornish Cross?

    I had my cx till 9.5 wks old only had 1 die. You have to restrict the feed to a minimum. They will free range just fine and mine dust bathed all the time. They only smell if you keep them in a small pen.

    Plant bushes instead of a fence. Blueberry, gooseberry, blackberry. Or just a hedge row. Cheaper and will produce something good for you and the birds.

    I can think of a thousand things you shouldn't be doing but I think your mom will get over it. Just make sure it's In a container that is secure. So she will feel secure about them.

    I wouldn't think so. My sister doesn't close them up at all. She has a 6ft chain link fence only for a pen. The coup is an old shed with a hole cut out no door. They have no problems. She had chicken for 10yrs

    All my roosters were 8+ lbs. Had one that was 9lbs 12oz.plucked and gutted. If you get the nadya's poultry shrink bags get the next size up. I had a hard time with a 7lbs 10oz bird going in to the 5-8 lbs bag.

    Weighed one of my hens today she had a weight of 9.5lbs.
