  7. Another of our RIR's coming out of the new coop. Love the new vents that can be closed. We have a cover over the run area for bad weather days and shade. It was 104 the day we moved them over to the new coop. There is a matching vent in the back for more ventilation.

  9. Photo of our new chicken coop and "corral" made out of pallets, not the prettiest yet, we are still working on the outside siding but it was finished enough to move the chickens. Nest boxes are on the left and underneath is access where we will keep the water and food. There is a gate to close the run from the "corral" at night. In the back is a big door that opens wide for cleaning. We won't have to actually step into the run for anything until winter hits and we have to shut them in at night. Loving it right now :-)

    Another Hay Question

    THANK YOU! That thread is very informative & I will have to read everything later. As for the girl at the feed store giving us hay instead of straw I guess she knows better than me ( which isn't hard to do considering this is our 1st year with chickens). We will keep that hay and give it a try...
