l want to get a big rooster for my house and l saw that the jersey giant is huge but I can't find anywhere in Australia that sells them.
Does anyone know a place that sells these guys? Can you get them in Australia?
Hello again.
I'm sorry I could not get back to you as l was on a holiday and forgot about BYC. She should have been fine for 5 days as it did not look too big. How is she going now? Has she recovered?
I have heard this from other people and have read it in a chicken book before. You should not tip her completely upside down. This sounds quite serious and it may be more than just an impacted crop.
Could be ascitics.
It is sometimes a sign of severe health issues like kidney failure. What I would recommend and it may be the only way it to get a syringe preferably a higher gauge one as you don't have to poke her as much and can sometimes screw off the tube and the needle will leak on its...
Something l try is massaging the top of the crop for a couple of minutes. You can do this quite hard as you need to clear the way so food can go in and out. After you do that try tipping her upside down very carefully. If she is not too stressed get someone to massage the crop again for about...
I have a friend that has a rooster and hens that are laying. Could l get an egg from their house, take it to my house and put it under my broody chicken? The only problem is that l would not know if the egg would be fertilised or not. Could l do this and after a couple of days just candle it or...
I have 2 female Coturnix quails and l am wondering if you can dye them. Can you wash them in food colouring of use a toothbrush/paint brush to put the food colouring on the bird? I know you can do it with most chickens but I have only had quails for about 6 months and do not know a lot about them.
What You might be able to do is hatch your own chicks. Get some fertilised eggs and an incubator and just ask if you need any help. The instructions for incubating usually come with the incubator. Hope l could help.
I'm pretty sure the one on your head is a boy. The two on the edge of the box appear to be girls. I think the other speckled one is also a hen (girl) but might need to see a better picture of it. When they get older you will start to see the size and comb differences which should give you a...
I have been wanting to dye one of my white silkies for a while but l'm not sure how. Do l just bath them in dye or do l have to inject ink when they are in the egg?
Hello everyone l am from Sydney and love my chickens. l hope l can help people with their chicken problems and give tips for starters. I'm Bobchicken93.
