    Bald spot on back of hen near tail feathers

    I have 13 hens and 1 rooster. all have missing feathers on their backs near the tail feathers. I live in northern New England. seems to have started this winter and has progressively gotten worse. i haven't observed any pecking in that area. Not sure what it is.... thoughts?

    Thanks for the great info. Yes she did have trouble walking. Towards the end her legs flared outward.
