Hi guys,
Crisis over, I put one of the trays in that I had the eggs in and then they all started to pop out, every 2 hours I'd pull the hatched ones out and then put the piping ones in the trays upright. managed to hatch 48 or so, so didn't to to bad.
Thank you for you help everyone and sorry...
Hi Underground Chicken man,
Thank you for the advise, I'm alosmt there, I did trun the dial back up to where it was up to before, was only a quarter of a turn, I've got 2 didital thermometers (one is a degree lower then it should be but i'm used to it(, both reading 37.8-37.9 degrees celcius...
day 17 today. But most of the eggs were piping yesterday morning when i checked them. And there was no further piping along any shells, I've only opened the incubator once to remove the already hatched chick.
Hi Peeps.
I've got my second lot of coturnex quail hatcing and I think I have a problem, On day 14 I stopped turning, layed all the eggs down, turned it down from 100 to 98 degrees and increased the humidity from 55% to 65%.
started with 72 eggs, only 60 were good, and with the 60, only one...
As long as your temp goes back up fast then don't worry. The internal temp of the eggs wont drop enough to worry about, unless the temp in the incubator takes long to warm bak up.
Hi
With the little yellow school incubator, I bought one and had it sent down under from the states. It was ok, I had 4 button quail eggs in it and 3 hatched, my problem was keeping the temp down and turning the eggs, I ended up buying a thermostat and had that running the light, for the water...
Hi Guys,
Not sure how much you's care, But this is in my home made incubator, (waiting on the hovabator to arrive). But I just went to turn them and found this little surprise. OMG it was such a shock, I wasn't even ready for it. But its all good now.
I checked the other eggs and they aren't...
tried that once and it didn't work, they all got smashed.
But a while ago I hatched 3 Quail eggs under a pigeon, worked out well. Just have to check then to make sure you take them out on time, otherwise the baby sitter (the pigeon) tries to feed them and then kicks them out.
