What Breed of Ducks are these??

They look to me like poor quality Buffs or some kind of Buff cross. But they are pretty, nonetheless.

    Grey Call Ducks

Dave Holderread in Corvallis or somewhere thereabouts raises Calls among other ducks, but I don't know if he has any to sell right now. But I know that lots of people here love the quality of his birds. Here's a link to his website: http://www.holderreadfarm.com/

jUMBO PEKINS prone to bad helath?

I think there should be no reason why Jumbo Pekins shouldn't be fit and healthy like other ducks unless they aren't getting enough niacin in their food. Lack of it causes leg problems in any duck, but because Jumbos are bred to grow big fast they usually don't get the niacin they need. All you...

    3 days old pics!

Um, those aren't Pekins. Those are Buff Orpingtons. Buffs have the eyestripes and the purplish beaks. I've had both Pekin and Buff ducklings before, so that's how I know. I just thought you ought to know so in case you wanted to reconsider selling them. They can be really pretty when they...

    Finally! My first Muscovies!

They really ought to put warning signs up in feed stores if they're going to carry ducklings this early in the year so those of us with Impulsive Duck-Buying Disorder can be prepared. Symptoms include: glazed-over eyes, a huge smile, a tendency to linger by the duckling brooder rather than the...

    Preparing eggs for selling?

What I do with my eggs is take a sponge with a regular abrasive pad and dish-washing soap, and scrub them clean. I have always found that to work for me. And yes, they do smell. But it's not so obvious unless your hands smell after washing the eggs or if you hold an egg up to your nose. I...

Do ducks go to BED at night like chickens?

I know my ducks freak out and quack loudly for me if I leave them in their day-time pen after it gets dark. When the sun goes down they know it's bedtime.

    How long do they live?

I think it would be safe to go ahead and get another female or more. Ducks usually live for awhile; at least, I have an eight-year-old Buff Orpington and I know that many other people on this forum have older ducks.

I think I am allergic to duck eggs! Help!

Oh, they were rather like what you described -- nausea and vomiting. My brother had it worse, but he is also allergic to some other foods as well. But, concerning duck meat, they were completely fine with that, so I wouldn't think you should have any problems eating it.

I think I am allergic to duck eggs! Help!

We have the same problem in my family. Both my brother and my mom are allergic to duck eggs, but love chicken eggs. We also have a friend who is allergic to chicken eggs but loves duck eggs. It works both ways.

Duckling pics (but i also have a question.)

Yeah, that's a Welsh Harlequin. They get some brown adult down even though they have yellow duckling down. Strange, but true. Cute pics, BTW.

What is or has been your LONGEST/OLDEST living duck??

I currently have a Buff drake who is eight years old and going strong. He's the oldest duck I have, and none of my ducks in the past have died of old age.

A duck and her babies <3

Now that is sweet. Didn't know ducks could start so young!

Will I need to clip my Buff Orpington ducklings' wings when fledged?

Oh no, no - goodness no! It will not be necessary to clip their wings. My first ducks were Buffs; they don't fly too much. At least, they will never really fly any farther than the occasional short bursts of flight at a few feet high. They do not have the proper body type for serious...
