    Thank you both! No, she has not been vaccinated for fowl pox. Hopefully if that's what it is, she'll start recovering soon and the rest of the flock won't be affected!

    Hello friends!!!! I noticed that one of my chooks had some mild scabbing on her comb a few weeks ago, and treated it with peroxide, then colloidal silver, then put Vaseline on it to try to protect it. It hasn't gotten any better and is now spreading! One of her eyes is almost completely swollen...

    Thanks, y'all!!! I actually have a separate coop on the property that I could use to quarantine. And if it turns out to not be a good fit for my older girls, they'll still have a place with me.

    Absolutely. I had been lured into a false sense of safety because our main coop (where the ladies are) stays open most of the time, but no more. I'll be adding a run and keeping them enclosed. I love the idea of free ranging, but I can't stand to lose any more.
