    Intestines eaten through the vent

I think its actually a raccoon or possum, it took a goose sometime last night. I'm setting a trap and leaving the dogs out.

    Intestines eaten through the vent

Dog kennel cage wrapped with chicken wire, I'm in central florida. I looked it up and it said weasels can do it, but I guess they're a bit rare here so I'm not sure if thats it. My other thought is cannibalism.

    Intestines eaten through the vent

I've lost 5 hens now by major internal bleeding. They all have the same cause, bloody eaten vent and intestines eaten, a couple have had an egg cracked in there as well. I'm at a total loss trying to figure out what is going on, no sign of predator entry in the cage. Does anyone know what would...

Any idea on what color this could be?

I probably have between 40 to 60 in that pen, mostly black, red, blue, white, and a couple barreds. It would be hard to get pictures of all of them lol.

Any idea on what color this could be?

I hatched around 30 barnyard mix chicks and have two that look like this. They're dad is probably a blue laced red wyandotte. I'm debating on keeping them just to see what they look like.

    very attached gosling

You might want to find him a goose friend. They're incredibly social creatures and need at least 1 other goose with them. Good job on taking him in!

Are quail more prone to hatching problems?

My humidity at hatch has been around 40% and during incubation is around 30% dry. Temp is about 100 but fluctuates slightly during the day.

Are quail more prone to hatching problems?

I've had 2 quail hatches so far a week apart. Last week I had 2 with that I had to cull and this week I have 1 that's a definite cull and another that's possible. 2 had leg issues, 1 had a serious cross beak and deformed face and this last one possibly has curled toes. Does anyone know if...

What age do geese stop laying?

I've had my white chinese goose for about 10 years. She's been laying since I got her and I don't know her age. She usually lays around 20+ eggs annually but spring of 22' she only layed around 5 or so. Is it possible she's getting too old? I really wanted to attempt to hatch some of her eggs...

    Sustainable meat bird

I actually made a post asking about the Delaware boilers from McMurrays, I got a few good responses from people who had them. They seem to be a good option.

    Sustainable meat bird

There's a few good threads on here about the new hamshire lines from freedom ranger hatchery. I plan on ordering those for myself in the spring.
