Im having the same with one of mine too, so glad I found this thread because I had no idea how to explain it! It sounds like it’s coming from her back end but I can’t even begin to figure out what it could be, did you find out what it was? Was your hen okay?- bridgetamelia98

can anyone determine the gender of this chicken please (will post photos below) she/he is almost 6 months old and has crowed just the once about a week ago although I don’t know if that was her mimicking one of my other girls that has started crowing due to me bringing more hens into the flock...- bridgetamelia98

How to stop a female hen crowing?!
It is in fact a dominance thing and to do with the pecking order since I have recently added more hens to the flock and it’s a problem because I live in a built up area and people will complain.- bridgetamelia98

can anyone give me advise on how to stop a female hen crowing, I separate her on a night and keep her in a dog crate in the house but as soon as she goes back outside she starts crowing again :( it is since I brought two more hens into my flock so I’m aware it’s a dominance thing but she doesn’t...- bridgetamelia98

My quail seems to have swollen back claws (toes on the back of their feet) I’m not sure if the nails have come off or that the skin has swollen around them but they are not visible and the claw seems to be rather swollen compared to my other quails, what could this be and how would I fix it? Celadon quail not hatching
I am on day 21 now of incubation and I only have had one chick hatch out of 16, she hatched yesterday. One seemed to of pipped but then no movement, it’s seems the chick has died in the egg and there is no movement or pipping from the rest.
