Hello!
I know this originated from 3 little cuts. (At minimum). It’s a hard little scab. I am soaking. Applying salve and/or neosporin. 3 toes were involved. Not sure how it happened tho.
What do yall recommend?
How long should I anticipate the recovery with this process? It’s been like 4-5...
Thinking about picking these 2 up. I ended up with more Roo’s last time & way out of ratio, I can’t risk on keep getting roosters. My 2 current girls are getting worn out. Anyone more familiar with lavender & buff orpingtons know if these are m/f? Lavender is 9 weeks, buff is 7. Supposedly.
These are both roosters, correct? The one in the front is attempting to crow, it’s comb came in after the one in the backs comb. They’re both roosters, correct? Their tail feathers look different to me.
They are a little over a month old. They Will be going to the coop this weekend. Figured I can just replace my brooder chicks & start the process over again!
We currently have 4 chickens. 2 female and looks like our 2 orps are male. Will be getting rid of one Roo. How vital is it to get at least 2 more hens? I don’t want them to get hurt from over mating.
Any advise appreciated! 😊
Thank you! The sand was very attractive for cleanliness. I like to hangout with them, and would prefer them to be as clean as possible due to this. I think it almost looks nicer too. I may just see how it goes with deep litter first & then sand at some point.
If you have any pros & cons list...
Thank you! I’m really considering the sand option for cleanliness but probably going to go for deep litter for a while to see how I like it plus I can use compost.
Very h
Very helpful! Thank you. I will make sure to use a higher spot in our yard to help with this as well, I think I may be a bit over worried about the material aspect. Thank you!
Will be prepping my run floor soon, first time having chickens. (4 chicks, 1 Duck) Been doing lots of research on the best run-setups. From sand, pine, hemp, to wood chips or anything else? My Climate is hot and humid in the summer, wet with high winds in the spring (Oklahoma tornado winds). And...
I think I may do the same..Trying to decide on best run floor. First time having chicks. With this run setup how often do you have to clean & replace the run floor? For reference, I have 4 chickens and one duck for our backyard babies.
Been doing so much research & still feel conflicted on...
She seems to be doing better today. Seems like she is stepping on the hurt leg with the other? But she wants to fly around and run with the other babies.
I don’t see any swelling. She is actually the bigger or the 2 americauna. She seems to be moving around a bit more on it today… I’m hoping it was just a sprain. We have one that likes to bite the others, so maybe it was the other chic
Thank You! She really is 😭
I’m hoping she is a bit better tomorrow, but it doesn’t seem like her condition is changing. She still eats, drinks, & tries to move around.
