    I have noticed that the darker the hen the more green pigment you will see in the eggs. Not sure if there is any connection or not, but that is my observation.

    That is what I have heard and read, EE chickens are a mush mash of colors. Ameraucanas are true colors for breed standard.

    I would agree. Seems like I reads somewhere that they would lay a blue egg with shades of green. Can not remember where I seen that at.

    I thought Ameraucanas laid a blue or blue green egg. Is that not correct?

    I have hatched 2 times and both times I have laid on their sides. Good success so far
