Caught another one last night, the biggest one yet. Used apple slices, it worked. How many more can there be?? Thanks to these monsters we are down to only three chickens, 2 hens and good old Crooked Toe, our rooster.
The big Owl didn't work. The hanging CD's don't work. These sparrows are relentless! They totally invade my chicken coop, especially at night. I've gone out and checked for holes, etc. but my problem is I like for the hens to have freedom into the garden area, which leaves our door open. And...
When we picked them up I noticed they did have a very large hanging feeder. Unfortunately we never thought of asking if we could have it. This one is a smaller feeder. But you know, I'm going to try that out. Thanks for the suggestion.
On a side note, I've been looking at a bunch of home...

Tomorrow night will be one week since we got the new chickens. I may be worrying too much - and I'm sure there is an adjustment period of time, but..... I'm worried.
While these chickens are running around, scratching and digging in the run, etc - they don't seem to be eating out of...
I saw your post, and while I don't know the answer to the problem of them fighting, I feel bad for you. How awful.
I hope someone knows how to solve this. I would try to keep them as far away from each other as possible, at least for now.
