    MARYLAND THREAD!

I can't imagine he would have a hard time if he just took a country drive north. I am a little farther west (1 hour) and I routinely pass 10+ places I could stop off and buy eggs.

@jessefitz A ton of poultry groups on Face Book for your area will be happy to take him. Best of luck from Frederick County!

    MARYLAND THREAD!

I found this for you, but it is pretty vague: § 87-2Keeping of farm animals. It shall be unlawful to keep and maintain within the corporate limits of the City any animals generally considered to be farm animals, except in areas now zoned agricultural and in established stockyards and livestock...

    MARYLAND THREAD!

Sorry for the delay, since then I have built a house for them yes. I surprisingly dont have a picture of it though. If anyone has any Silver Appleyards that need a new home we might be interested. Same with turkeys!

    Not another duck pond post

Please keep this updated! Next step for me might be a pond and want to reduce dumping all that water so frequently.

    plans similar to Carolina Coop

I used the same video linked, as well as Caroline Coop to reverse engineer our duck run. Threw in some of my own adaptations of stuff to cut down material costs. Was still spendy with lumber costs, however if you are OK with not perfect lumber Home Depot sells 70% culls and I was able to find a...

It is murky but it is looking pretty decent! Are you needing more water turn over capacity?

    Open Air Duck Run Construction

Oh everything can be bigger! However it is much larger than we ever have had and we have a rather small flock. That and from our experience the ducks only use it to lay.

That was the idea this time, pre-stain everything and then touch up if needed. I cant imagine trying to cut in around the metal roofing, hurricane straps, hinges, etc and trying to make it look good.

    MARYLAND THREAD!

Runs done! It is fully enclosed with hardware cloth and I made a pretty cool door for it (Not shown...yet). Anyone catch the poultry swap in Sharpsburg this last weekend? Was out first time and it was a good time!

    Open Air Duck Run Construction

Change from what I usually do. I do have to think ahead though instead of just cut and fasten. Would I do it again? Yes if I knew and was ok with doing touch up.

    Open Air Duck Run Construction

Too busy to take pictures! Got it all done and had to test it all out with our ducklings and poults. Not shown is the door, will try to remember to get a picture of that soon. Phase two has began; the mega duck house. Coming in at 6'x3' the idea was room for plenty of birds or the option to...

    Open Air Duck Run Construction

Thank you! Ended up doing some roof work over the past couple of days. Next will be to cut the pieces of blocking between my rafters. Short on stained boards so I might have to stain some more before getting to that.

    MARYLAND THREAD!

I have one of those moveable electric fence units on the back of my mind if we need it. If the turkeys and ducks dont get along the turkeys will get a little more outside time with it. Completed some more progress over the past couple of days.
