It's the NAF No Bite Spray for horses, I sprayed a test patch on her last night and can't see any irritation so will continue to use it and see how it goes. Thanks!
Possibly, none of the other birds are affected and there's never any blood. They only have natural daylight and we have a wildlife camera so I can put that in the shed and see! I think we have anti bite spray somewhere for the horses, would this work do you think?
This is Phoebe, she's an ex battery hen and is well in herself and eating. She isn't laying (to my knowledge) but I'm unsure of her age as she is a rescue.
She's had these bald patches for a while now, it started on her wings and has progressed. There are no other symptoms and I can't see...
Thanks for your reply- this is what I was worried about and if it comes down to then I will find a new home for the roosters. The drakes aren't interested in the chickens at all and they're bottom of the pecking order bless them!
We have 3 drakes but will be rehoming one or two before spring as they are from this year's hatch. The drakes don't bother the hens at all- if anything they are a bit scared of them!
Will the roosters see them as a threat?
I have two 4 month old bantam Cockerells (pekin mix) who are currently living separately from the rest of the flock where they can't see the hens.
I will be looking at introducing them within the next few weeks and the goal is to keep both of them so long as we have no major problems. My...
Thank you for your reply. I'm in the UK and we have a plan in place for the mites and worming and I plan on feeding them some scrambled eggs tomorrow 😋 I hadn't thought about a supplement, I will look at Poultry Cell as my current birds are also going through a molt and look in need of a...
Yes it's very sad 😔, they look like ghosts and they all have deformed beaks. Super excited to see them all round and feathered up in the coming months! I haven't felt it yet but I will do in the morning once she's got through the first night and will report back!
Hi,
We have just collected some hens from a charity. They were caged and are in pretty shoddy condition. This one has a growth on her head and just want to get some opinions.
Thanks 😊
Rocky (black and white) is safe to say a roo! I'm not sure about Tumble (Gold), though. They are the same age but Tumble's legs and stature are much shorter. Any thoughts would be really appreciated!
Thank you, we don't have direct neighbours and our garden is surrounded by a single large field so I think we can rule out rat poison. It could be heart attacks if they have been scared but there is no evidence of predators and someone, was around all day. The ducks that died were all female so...
