I am going to try raising some turkeys this spring. I have had chickens for years so not entirely new to the process.
Last year my neighbors dog got out and killed 10 of my chickens and the rooster. My question is if I plan to free range my turkeys in limited amounts would an enclosed run...
I have 12 hens I have 3-4 who started molting in the middle of this past winter. They still do not have any feathers across their back. I am wondering if they were molting or are sick, or did they get frost bite ??? any help would be great. They do have a pink/ reddish skin with what appears to...
I have a small flock 14 total. I have 2 roosters who get along well. Today I noticed the aggressive and dominant rooster had what looked like his tail feathers cut off. There was blood on him but no where else in the coop or the run. I didn't see any paw prints or animal tracks around the fence...

I am getting ready to dig the posts for the run and start getting that assembled. Does chicken wire alone offer enough protection from predators. Do I need to spend the money on a welded wire enclosure or do I need a wire cloth type of cover for the run... I have recently relocated 13 fox in the...
Lollipop you aint kidding about the meat birds. I have 10 right now that are 5 1/2 weeks and they are dumb. I have a big pen for them with roosts they would rather lay in their poop next to the feeders.
Was debating if I would do another round of them or not if they weren't ready to process...
Thanks for the help everyone. Got them in the coop and so far all is well. I still have to put in the roosts and poop board but looks like they are good so far.
Will post some more pictures as soon as the never ending rain passes.
