I would use the same amount of duck eggs as I would chicken eggs. The duck eggs have a larger yolk, making things taste a little richer. Try making brownies from a box with duck eggs. You may see what I mean!

I was on ilovebacon.com and saw that some people in a different state had their sugar shack raided by the police. They were boiling sap but the authorities thought it was a meth lab. I found it fun ny and sad at the same time.

Kimmie, the TSC I go to in Coopersville has the ones I picked up, plus assorted banties, isa browns, black sex links and a couple breeds of ducks. Man, I am tempted to get some ducks. I like their eggs in baking!

Couldn't stand it. Saw some fuzzballs at TSC and had to take some home. I have four each of Black Jersey Giants, GLW's and Ameracaunas.

If it were a bit colder, the snow would be fluffier and it would be easier to drive around, I think. The morning after the blizzard way back in 2011, I was following a snow plow on my way to work. The guy slowed and stopped. A few minutes later, he walked back to tell me I should take a...

I talked to my grandpa for a while the other night. He described to me how he does chicks. He buys them from TSC when the sales are about done for chicks, they are trying to get rid of them by then. He told me that he used to use a heat lamp, hanging by its cord from a nail, but one time it...

I would absolutely LOVE to live somewhere in the countryside in Europe. Maybe I will go some day and just walk around. Hike until I found a small town I like and do odd jobs to survive and buy beer, learn what I can about the history, myths and legends and then move on when I've had my fill...

When I was 13, I took a trip to the British Isles. In a grocery store in the suburbs of London, I thought it was strange at the time, but the eggs were in the isle next to the pasta.

Eeyore: I don't have any more than 2 roosters in a coop. I've got three coops and also a rabbit hutch that I call the bachelor pad where I put the roosters I have seperated from the rest until I do the deed.

NovaAman: I just use dishes of some sort to dump food in. One coop has a crate that I took from work and repurposed as a bin for feed.

It would be nice! I have people at work bugging me all the time about eggs. They don't get that chickens may slow down a bit in the winter due to shorter daylight.

Hi, Naglady. I'm Ryan, I was saying hello to Amie who I know personally, sorry 'bout the mixup, lol! Well, I got my BR's from TSC who I assume got them from Townline Hatchery. I got them because they were the cheapest ones, a little over a buck and a half apiece for straight run. Lots of...

I haven't been here in quite a while. I like this new format. It works much better on my mobile. I shall have to drop in more and see what is going on! I'm trying to decide what I would like for spring additions to my flock. I would like more variety. Mostly I have barred rocks that I got...

I would use a hacksaw. Or, if it is close enough for an extension cord, a sawzall with a metal blade.
