    Color genetics thread.

I'll give a list soon as I'm on my computer. I've got 1 chick with 5 toes on 1 foot & 4 on the other. I know momma is 1 of my bantam sultans. She's black with white crest. I don't think I saw any signs of feathers. Which means Daddy is oegb, crevecoeur, or wcblack polish. Every other roo is buff...

Since I love Holland lops (smallest loop bun) & my bantam birds... Am also wanting a Nigerian goat...I love it! What about weekend tours-petting zoo type of thing? Superstition dairy farm does that here in the Phoenix valley. Plus the ostrich farm & how they run their operation might be...

Depending on how much you have to move & your vehicle uhaul trailer might work. Or rent truck & car dolly when Dad flying back. Or movers do it all & you drive your car or fly. Depending on your dog & airline it goes in cabin or under.

    BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beekissed in her gnarly bunch blog head a great method. If I remember right she bathed them then coated in nustock, it's in the horse aisle, then repeated-couple days between baths I think. I didn't have that so I used Vaseline. Took a few rounds & washing it out is a pain. Treat the whole bird...

    BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks. So far 14 hatched - 1 preemie didn't make it past about 48 hours. Another I helped hatch I screwed up & failed to cover the bowl I was using for heated water & it managed to climb into it. The sides are like 4 inches. There was another with it so must've climbed onto it or something. It...

    Color genetics thread.

Sorry to jump in, but this fits with what I'm hatching.... Backyard mixed. Does it matter if the hen or roo has the pea comb? It's dominant regardless? My other question for combs is what's dominant between a pea comb, single comb, & v comb? Is feather legs dominant? 5 toes dominant? I can...

    BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got babies! Mixed, but definitely some Cochin bantam. Especially one lil tiny baby. Momma is super over protective. 10. Lost 1 that think was preemie which the other broody hatched & pecked-near the jugular. She lived a few days then passed earlier today. So far that rest are doing great...

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

I've got 12 chicks inside cause 1 I couldn't resist at tsc & 2 I didn't think my broody girls would hatch. Well, I've now 10 babies outside at least check. All are being given the same FF as everyone else. I have cut out adding the extra oyster shell, but that's it. I was adding as some shells...

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Thank you for the pic. I think I might combine this with the PVC pipe cut in half for a feeder. Depending on the cost vs the mud pans. The hinge roof is genius.

    Cochin breeding, genetics, and showing

Momma won't let me take pics, but I've got 10 mixed breeds in my yard! Another broody sitting on more. I know one is an Americana & bantam Cochin or bantam buff Brahma since I could see the outside this are fluffy. The rest polish, crevecoeur, bantam buff Brahma, bantam Cochin, oegb as roos &...

Ideal runs specials, but you have to order 25 minimum, .20 per chick shipping plus $7 I think small box charge. Not sure about privet or the others. I think it depends what you're after. How's Merc? His brothers?

    BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in the Phoenix desert & my cochins do well in our heat. It's vital for the water & shade at least. I also have pans of shallow water for them to step in, place frozen 2 liters filled with water outside, & have at least a stand mister going to help cool the area. If any are looking as if they...
