. Hi Clucky, as you’re knitting your scarf put it around your neck to see how much longer it needs to be. If you can wrap it once around your neck, see how long each scarf hangs. I’m tall so I like my scarves on the long side, so they can be wrapped more than once. It also looks nicer when...
Picked up one of my girls this evening and found her rear end caked with a huge ball of poop stuck on her feathers. I gave her a bath and got all the poop off, but her skin under the caking was red with irritation. Any ideas on what this is, or will I have a dead chicken in the near future?
Hi, Billie Jo here! I’ve been knitting for 35+ years, even owned a knitting store after I retired from the real world. I also do needlepoint, cross-stitch, embroidery, and crochet. I’m always happy to help with questions, etc. Chat away!

It all sounds good, but you may want to take her to the local chicken vet to make sure there were no cuts, etc. If it was a really soft shell, this may not be a problem. Should be good if she starts laying again in the next week or so, but you never know.
Thanks for that story. I was way to nervous too, to just keep pulling in case it was her intestines. The weird thing, is that she acts normal. She is one of my favorite birds and most beautiful, so I'm really freaked out by her condition. It's not hanging far enough out to step on but maybe in a...
We have this one Ameraucana that hasn't laid at all since December. We thought it was just molting season and laying off in the winter.
Nothing else seemed wrong with her. Today we saw she had what we originally thought was poop hanging in her back side feathers. I got a wet towel to...
