    Ducks chasing & biting other ducks tail!!!

    hey guys I have a similar problem. I have 2 mallards n 6 buff chicks in the same pen. the ducks like to get the chickens tail feathers all wet n like chew on them. any idea why? they were raised together and fine until now. they are 10 weeks old. thanks

    I wondered about that too with the pecking order per say. and we had to buy 6 chicks originally but supposedly once you have them you can buy one or two at a time. thanks for the info!

    I did some reading on this already but wanted some more input. we have 6 buff orphington and 2 mallards about 5 to six weeks old.. I was wanting to get 2 silkie bantam from TSC. they are new chicks and I was wondering if the quarantine protocol was still the same or if a week or 2 would work...

    this winter wasn't bad cold or snow wise but there's times in the summer we get a week of rain. and sounds like I'll go with a half open run then. thanks for the info guys really appreciate it and I thought of that also don't wanna be bending over constantly as I have a garden too.

    I'm in ohio so tends to get pretty wet and cold at times.should the run be covered with a roof or open? I plan to have chicken wire on top if I don't need a roof.and does it matter how tall the run is I'm not going for extravagant. trying to stay towards the cheap end.
