    At what age can you sex blue slates? We have 4 that are 5 months old and one of them is a bit bigger than the others and its head is a bit more red than the others, but other than that there is nothing that screams tom.

    Yeah I think Columbian coloring is just really clean and fancy looking. I have two bantam Columbian wyandotte hens and two roosters right now and four chicks that are 3 weeks old. I plan to start breeding them next spring.

    Thats awesome! That shell is definately something to keep. Why didnt I think of that... I hope my year and a half old australorp lays like that in the future. I havent weighed any of my eggs but i think hers are a little on the medium side right now but usually at least 6 days a week.

    Was that from a pulley that has just started laying recently? I had a couple pullets last year that layed a few big eggs like that. They were double yokers!!
