I am looking for others who are raising Leghorns, it doesn't matter if they are white, Light Brown, or Dark Brown. I am raising 10 pullets that are Light Brown. I bought all female chicks and got 10 pullets and 1 cockrel. They will be hens on July 1, and then there is our Cockrel who we keep...
Double T,
I am so sorry, I didn't realize that the fire was at or that close to your home. I don't think that is funny, I am sorry to hear that. The smoked eggs now that is funny. The fact that you are still getting eggs really is remarkable, or at least that many with the fire so close to...
10 For 10 Go my Brown leghorn pullets they will be hens July 3rd. We are grateful for their laying work. Organic, high yielding Omega 3 eggs we love them. We do have a cockrel that was suppose to be a girl but well he gets to look from the other side of the chicken wire.
My Brown Leghorns layed at about 5 months. I did have one that I was caring for so she was crated in my Laudry room and she started at 4 months and the eggs very large right off, surprisingly enough.

I have 10 Brown Leghorn pullets that are 10 mos old and they probably eat more than your girls do. Most of the time they forrage but I feed a mix of Flock Raiser, Layers crumble, and some scratch feed which I call "Chicken Lucky Charms". They are spoiled, in the morning they get a wet mix of the...
I have a pullet I just spent $76 to take her and one other from my flock to the vet. The vet hospital said they can treat pullets. Ya "k" he really didn't know as much as I thought. They sent the pooh out to be tested for parasites and no parasites. I could have taken the pooh to our Aggie Univ...
