I'm just wondering what the youngest is that you've had a pullet lay an egg?
I have 3 10 week old pullets, a barred rock, australorp, and a buff orpington, and in the last couple of days their faces have started pinking up. No comb or wattle development, so I'm not thinking they are really anywhere close, but just wondering if it might be sooner than the 6 months or so that I've been expecting.
Thanks!

My EE laid when she was 5 months old

First time with chickens last year at this time. Ended up with 11 hens and they started to lay at 16 weeks. Bared rocks, RIR, and some blacl ones I have no idea what they are. Still going and am starting with EE, Buff, and RIR chicks this last month, Oh I have to say I also have 24 Fat Chicks as I call them. Cornish X. 5 weeks old and weight is about 6.5 each now.

My Brown Leghorns layed at about 5 months. I did have one that I was caring for so she was crated in my Laudry room and she started at 4 months and the eggs very large right off, surprisingly enough.

Hmmm...so potentially I could see eggs in another 6 weeks or so...that would be AWESOME! My close to 6 month olds aren't laying yet, but I have seen them squat once or twice in the last couple of days, so I think they are close, hooray!!
