ZCoop Du Jour
aka Buffingham Palace
I would like to thank everyone that posted pics and advice on coop construction. BYC.com contributers have been so very helpful.
I stole a little something from each of you.
I researched coop designs for over a year, but did not actually start...
The same thing happened to me last week. I took a few pics of the very small egg this morning to post somewhere on the site
and bumped into your post, I guess stuff happens.
My Buff Orpingtons were hatched on May 16th.
They are well fed and pampered, when will they lay there first egg?
I am just as impatient as the rest of you.
What do you think?

I had no access to free or scrap lumber had to buy everything.
maybe my coop design would help you, you could build it without the run part and add just a simple fenced run.

I too am not zoned for chickens so I built a stealth coop.
well, walls on 3 sides
I picked the same design you have picked. the only thing I would add would be some longer roof
overhangs on all sides, it will help keep the run dryer.
check out the coop I just completed...
I ordered a roll of 1/2 inch hardware cloth on line through Ace hardware, picked it up at the local store, no delivery charge.
I can't see a dog or coon biting or chewing though this stuff. I used it, I hope not.
I tried the page tool I don't quite understand how it works but here we go.
Can this make the coop design page?
