    Hatching Eggs-- Membrane bleeding???

I have 3 eggs hatching in my incubator. This is my first hatch. One of them pipped a small hole near the small end of the egg. I (stupidly) tried to help by making a small hole in the other end of the egg, but a large chunk of the shell came off and the membrane broke and is bleeding a little...

    Rooster Losing Feathers

Thanks so much for the info. I'll look into it all. They're currently on a 16% layer pellet. They also get fruits, veggies and some meat scraps a couple of times a week. So far, all of the hens look fine. But, I'll check them out for mites. Thanks again!!

This thread made me giggle. I LOVE reading about all of your chickens and their snacks. My little flock lives in a yard outside my back door. We throw leftovers (mostly vegetables and fruits) out for them a few times a week. My mother (who also lives on the property) would feed them every day if...

Feed always available or do you feed them?

Can someone please post links to some of the bulk feeders you use? I have considered getting a hanging feeder that will hold quite a bit of food, but not sure which type is best, or if there's something else that's even better. What types of feeders do you use? ETA: While we're on the topic...
