    Loose 4 week old chick

I’d stand close by and listen. She will eventually start chirping, especially right as it’s starting to get dark.

    Chicken leaks out of bum

I am assuming since you are asking only about her that your other chickens are not having the same symptoms. Hot temperatures and drinking a lot of water can cause watery poop. I would give probiotics daily for a while and see if that helps clear it up - and electrolytes since it’s summer and...

Making the coop/run area pretty - show me what you’ve done

These areas start out cute when they’re first built, but it doesn’t take long for all the poop, dirt, dust, rain, etc. to take effect and it starts to look not so pretty. Show me what you’ve done to make the OUTSIDE of your coop/run area pretty. Rocks, pavers, flowers, borders. etc. Anything!

Difficulty integrating two sets of chicks, one set has a cockerel - which is the issue

Thank you for replying. So you’re saying it could be the RIR personality and not necessarily the cockerel? That’s possible too, I guess, although he is the one chasing the other chicks down and pecking excessively. I was hoping for some tips on how to curb his behavior. As a long time...

Set 1 (the black chicks) is almost twice the size of Set 2 (RIR).

The pic on the left is a good accurate representation of the two sizes. Does it allow you to zoom in? If not, I can zoom and repost.

    Acclimating pullets to new coop

Is the run covered so they can’t get out? If so, I’d let them be in both, the coop and run. You will probably need to go out each evening for a few days and move them to the coop to teach them. Dont wait til it’s completely dark. At dusk, either lure them in with treats or physically move them...

Difficulty integrating two sets of chicks, one set has a cockerel - which is the issue

Will try to make this as short as possible. I have two sets of chicks that I will be integrating into an existing flock of 16 hens, but first need to integrate the two sets of chicks together….and I am having issues I didn’t anticipate. The two sets of chicks are: Set 1 is four pullets -...

    Raised Bed grazer planting ideas

They probably won’t eat the fresh herbs. Mine completely avoid them whenever I put fresh in their nest boxes or toss in the pen.

    After Wry Neck…

Keep giving the vitamins at least 2 weeks after symptoms show improvement. I have used individual doses (from human pills) during the crisis, then use Poultry Cell during recovery.
