Can anyone tell me about these breeds? My family and I were just discussing chickens earlier, and we settled on these as our favorites, though we've never had any of them.
Is there anything we should know about them, like over egg producing or mean?
Stories of antics and such are welcome.
I'm sorry, I should have realized.
I just meant better in a general, all around way, perhaps in temperament and egg laying, plus broody, as I'm looking for quality, not quantity.
Hello again.
When I get my chickens, I will not be getting Roosters, at least not yet.
I want eighteen Rhode Island Red Hens, and I want one Rhode Island Red Rooster, but I also want one that is from another breed, one that once crossed with a Rhode Island Red Hen will make a better bird.
I'm...
They're really pretty, thank you for sending me a picture.
Have you ever had Rhode Island Reds?
If I were to be getting roosters and I got one Rhode Island Red, but wanted another one from a different breed, what would you suggest?
Hi, I'm Rebekah.
Um, I don't have any chickens yet, but I hope to soon.
Just have to convince my Dad first.
My current favorite is the Rhode Island Red, and, tee-hee, they're also my Dad's favorite chicken. :)
Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor?
Anyhow, I'm really liking this...
