    Preaching to the choir... PICS

This thread reminds me why I don't participate in this forum much anymore. I would think that it was a joke if I had not seen the same thread on here countless times before.

    Looking for meat rabbits....

I live in NC, and our state fair is coming up in October. There are usually plenty of rabbits being shown and sold there. I would assume that GA has a state fair? That might be your best bet to meet local breeders

    Vet Vent!

What's the issue? Take your dog to another vet. Fuquay is what 15 miles from Raleigh? You probably have 50 vets in a 30 mile radius.

    Contemplating getting a couple goats

Quote: Yeah, I don't think you are supposed to breed a standard buck to a mini doe. For the first generation of the Kinders they use a pygmy buck and a nubian doe. He must use a stool. I've never understood if they breed true second generation. They must.

    Contemplating getting a couple goats

Quote: I've alway read that La Manchas were some of the easiest, healthiest goats to keep. Are the mini -manchas a La Mancha pygmy cross? The Kinders are cool, they are a Nubian-pygmy cross.

    Contemplating getting a couple goats

You can see my recent post, I just got Nigerian Dwarfs. I don't have a whole lot of experience, so we can learn together, and you can take advantage of my research. I think if you want a smaller goat for milk, Nigerian Dwarfs are your best choice. I bought Storey's guide for Raising Goats...

    Mule questions

Mules are really neat animals. There is a town near me, Benson, NC that has an annual "Mule Day" celebration everyone brings there mules. It's pretty cool, even if you don't have a mule, but you like to drink beer. My grandfather who has been gone for 12 years now, was a tobacco farmer, and...

    Weaning A Kid...

Quote: 4 Months old? Yes, you should cut off the bottle completely. She needs to develop her ruminant, and she will not do that if you are still feeding a bottle. It could be bad for her in the long run.

    My new goat babies

Al's Chicks : Congratulations! They are so adorable! I've put a deposit down on two Dwarf Nigerian wethers. We should get them by mid-June. Just curious, will your chickens free range with your goats? I'm planning for ours to be in the same area during the day. Yes, I have an acre fenced...

    My new goat babies

I posted on here a couple weeks ago that I had placed a deposit on some Nigerian Dwarf doelings. I picked them up yesterday. They are settling in to there new home very nicely. Katie is 3 months old, Ginger and Minnie are 2 months old. Minnie was one of quadruplets, and was bottle fed, so...

Calling all goat people! A health question now!

The breeder that I'm getting my nigerian dwarfs from feeds hers coastal. I believe I have read on here some people feed peanut hay.

Trying to get up the nerve. . . .

I got mine from a lady on Craigs List. She said they were 3 weeks old, and sexed (turned out one was a rooster, but that was Ok) I paid $2.75 ea. for Buff Orpingtons. I put them in a tuperware storage container in my garage with a heat lamp and checked them in the morning when I left for...
