    Young hawks doing fly-bys

The hawk can probably kill your chickens but not carry them away. I've had a tiny hawk kill one of my chickens even when they were in a heavily fortified cage. My advice is to see if the hawk comes back. Then you might have to put your chickens in some sort of cage nearby. The hawk probably...

I have no idea how you get a double rainbow... especially on an airplane. I took this photo a while back when I was traveling, and I have no idea where this is... but, still very cool!

    Weak ducklin

Maybe try some Nutri-Drench from TSC. I've used it a lot in the past to help out weak chicks and basically all the sick poultry I've had.

Been a while since I have been on Backyardchickens... here's a picture of the Flint Hills again! (Pardon the reflection from the window. We were in a car and one side was storm while the other was sunny! It was the most awesome trip in the Flint Hills I have ever had.)

    Weird nests

Update: The mourning dove chicks are ginormous, and the robin chicks are even larger. 2 chicks in each nest. Well, actually, the correct term would be fledglings. They look like their ready to leave the nest. However, the mourning doves have launched attacks against the robins several times...

    Weird nests

So, a while ago I noticed that a Mourning Dove was nesting on one of our porch pillars (pics included). We assume that they have been nesting here every year since they did not build the nest (it was already there in the first place), but we are not sure since we have just moved into our house a...

    Skin condition or molting?

It doesn't resemble molting; my best guess would be that another chicken is pecking your hen, but I'm not sure since they usually don't pluck feathers from the breast. Could be a disease from how clean the bald area is...

    Duck pool depth advice

I think it depends on whether you're going to keep the pool to adulthood, but I think 1' is better for ducklings. I had several adult Rouen's and they did fine in a 1' pool. They couldn't fully dive and submerge but it was enough for them to take a bath and have fun.

When do I help hatching, chick pipped 22 hrs ago

Now addressing the sour crop issue: the chick that threw up fluid should be monitored carefully. Throwing up fluid from the beak is a prime sign that your bird has sour crop, but I haven't seen it happen very often in chicks. See if it is drinking water or eating food. I'm pretty sure poultry...

When do I help hatching, chick pipped 22 hrs ago

From your description of your chicks, they don't seem to be sick in any way, except for bulging crop. Your chicks might not know where the food and water are, and that could be all. Also, as @BDutch mentioned, never hold your birds upside down since that will block their airflow.
