I saw this bird on Facebook, it looks really interesting! Like others have mentioned it could be a spontaneous mutation which could be really interesting to try to isolate. If possible you should keep breeding the parents and see if you can recreate it.
I use a plate for mine, I have three different brands because some family friends gave me theirs when they got out of birds. I like the TSC Producers Pride one, it's for sure the easiest to clean out of the three when the little nuggets decide to explore on top of it.
I worry about that happening in the NR 360 expressly having bantams so I always put a piece of shelf liner down at lockdown, it's worked pretty well for me so far.
