Yeah. He’s god the nice long neck. His tell is a little short and his chest isn’t very deep. But I’ll get that fixed, probably in a couple generations.Cool! The rooster looks decently close to d'uccle type. I might be wrong tho

The rooster is mottled. The hen is not but may carry the mottled gene. If the hen does carry the mottled gene, 50% will be splits and 50% will be mottled. Here is a mottled breeding chart that I learned fromWhy would 50 percent of chicks come out mottled? I don't see any mottling on either of them so it would be 25 percent at best.
That means that the rooster has one mottling gene, it doesn’t mean he’s pure for mottling. The chance is either 0% or 25% depending on if the hen carries mottling too.The rooster is mottled. There has to be two mottled genes for it to show. So he’d have to be double gened. That means that the rooster has one mottling gene, it doesn’t mean he’s pure for mottling. The chance is either 0% or 25% depending on if the hen carries mottling too.
A few examples:Chickens with one mottling gene can still show very minimal mottling, especially when they’re young. I’ll try to find a picture example.
Agreed. The rooster only has one copy of mottling. The pullet has either one or zero.Chickens with one mottling gene can still show very minimal mottling, especially when they’re young. I’ll try to find a picture example.
I'm just seeing this but I can't wait to see what you create this year!
Welcome back everyone! I’ve got the two F2 birds (silkied ones) breeding now. I decided to pair them first because I’ll get all silkied chicks and if the hen carries the mottled gene 50% should come out mottled.View attachment 4110617View attachment 4110619View attachment 4110620
