I came home tonight and found all 8 of my 3 mo old chicks and 5 of my old hens dead in the yard. I think lighting killed them but I have never heard of it happaning. Can it ?
Ok so I'm new to incubating eggs. I had one successful hatch of chickens and now I have 8 turkey and 12 duck eggs all on day 21 today. I have used the dry method so far and all is looking good. So what do you do at lockdown. Do you just unplug the turner or take the eggs out of it and lay them...
So as the outbreak in iowa gets closer I am concerned about how to protect my flock. I'm not having any luck finding information on line. 16 million birds infected and growing. But no one is talking about my 20 free range farm chickens. Anyone have any information?
