    Long grass is unfortunately a no-no for us as we have several venomous snakes here, plus pythons. So I need to keep the grass short as I am always on the lookout for any snakes getting into the enclosure.

    Oh, I didn't know that about the corn :o. Alan has set up the garden sprinkler in there for them this morning so I can run the sprinkler at very hot times. That is a good idea with the cold water & towel in their dust bath. TY.

    Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

    Hello everyone - I joined the page in the USA yesterday, and then was given the link to the Aussie thread. I am in the Wide Bay region of QLD, about 360km north of Brisbane. I just got my first 3 pullets this week - Orpingtons. 2@ 6months, 1@ 4.5 months. Loving them :-)

    Hello everyone. I am in Queensland, Australia and have just got my first ever chickens a few days ago. 3 x Orpington pullets. 2 @ 6 months old, 1 @ 4.5 months old. Hope to learn a lot from more experienced chicken people :-)
