I bought the same incubator and turner. I struggle with keeping temp and humidity exactly where I want it BUT 21 Days ago I set eggs in for the first time. This morning I woke up to peeping inside the incubator!

That is excellent news! I haven't been to South Boston in years. Looks like we'll be heading that way next month. We have already missed the 1st Saturday this month and we have chicks set to hatch on the 3rd Saturday this month. Thanks for the information!

    Breed help

Thanks for the info. Looking at the couple dozen chickens we hAve I now see that only my males have red on their wings. The other crossbreed that have some obvious jersey giant in them don't have the red.

    Breed help

Thanks. I'm obviously a novice here. Is easter egger a term for generic crossbreed? Kind of what we'd call a mutt in a dog? Also, how are you telling that this is a cockerel at this point? I can tell when the tail fetters get longer but am still trying to figure all of this out

Thanks. Coworker wasn't able to ID any of them. Said this was an Americauna also gave us a Dixie Rainbow (haven't sexed that one yet either but a crow out of it) as well as what he said was a leghorn (no comb or wattle) and four araucana bantams. I'll post pics soon for further IDs. Loving...

    help a rookie!

The wife and I have just begun keeping chickens. We were gifted several chickens from a coworker who really didn't know what he had as far as breeds or sex. Can anyone identify what I have here?
