Our coop has straw in the nesting boxes; the floor is poultry mesh. To help with mud, the run has natural mulch. Do you think our girls will know to lay in the nesting boxes or will they lay in the mulch?
My girls are (roughly) 17 weeks old. We have quite a mix: 3 RIRs, 1 barred rock, 3 silver laced wyandottes, 2 gold laced Wyandotte, & 3 ISA browns. We keep hoping to find some eggs soon, but so far no luck. Unless they are laying under the coop and behind our compost bins...
We purchased a dozen 4 week old chicks from Rural King a month ago. I remembered what they were for about 5 days
