    Muscovies: barred or rippled?

Not very good quality, I'm afraid, and probably all on the same day, but here's the other pics I have of Mack. In the first pic, he's closest to the top (except the khaki campbell mix). By the way, I changed the water in the first pic right after taking it. I should have taken the pic after...

    Muscovies: barred or rippled?

We lost all but one of our adults a few weeks ago when the waterer broke without my realizing it, so I can't take any new pics of him. That's why these babies are so important--I threw every egg i could find in the bator. Here's pics of the babies as juveniles (chocolate pied mother, unless...

    Muscovies: barred or rippled?

Okay. When we crossed this drake with a Black&white, they were all black&white. Crossed with the chocolate pied, they were all black as babies but now look barred as juvis (I'll go take a picture in a sec). It seems odd to me that we would get no blues or chocolates in those two crosses. You...

    Muscovies: barred or rippled?

Lilac is chocolate/silver, right? I assumed he was lavender because every duck in his flock was the same color, but I guess lilac would also breed true.

    Muscovies: barred or rippled?

Any ideas on this baby? The dad is that lavender drake from a lavender flock. Mom is a piebald blue fawn (she's in the pic of the drake above). I wasn't expecting any babies so light because I'm unaware of any lavender on Mom's side. If she does carry lavender, any idea how to tell if she's pure...

    Muscovies: barred or rippled?

Yes, I was reading that. I think if the parents only carried it though, we wouldn't have gotten a 100% turnout.

    Muscovies: barred or rippled?

Okay, thanks. If it disappears in adults, the parents might be barreds themselves, which would explain why we didn't get even a single self colored.

    Muscovies: barred or rippled?

I'm sorry, I'll have to take pics later, but I'm trying to figure out the coloration of my juvi muscovies. The father was lavender, and the mother was a piebald chocolate. A black&white and a blue fawn piebald mother could have also contributed to the nest (all three are related). These ten...

    Keeping breeds together

Right now I have three muscovy ducks, a muscovy drake, and three other ducks (Pekin, Khaki Cambell, and Runner) in a 17x17 foot pen. A friend has recently offered us a runner drake. Would we have to build a new pen in order to keep the two drakes separate? It'd be nice to not have to build a...

    The Aloha Chicken Project

I'm in Yuma and planning on breeding mine. If you want to leave your hens with one of my boys for a few days, or borrow one for a few days, or something, you're welcome to.

    Pond ideas

Right now our ducks are using a plastic kiddie pool, but we're having some problems. It's so large that I can't clean it easily so it's constantly green, and our bright sun is really hard on the plastic. We have pond liner left over from another project, but it seems like an in-ground pond would...

    Goat 4-H question

At our county fair a couple weeks ago, I watched some of the dairy goat showmanship. Most of the goats had not been milked that morning. Some were so engorged that milk dripped on the ground as they walked. Is there something in the requirements about not milking your goat, or were the kids...

How do I find 4h marketing information?

Thanks, I'll look at that. I'm not trying to get rich, we're just hoping that our costs and profits will break even.
