Yeah Muscovy’s aren’t native. There is a whole flock of them living in a pasture close to where I found him. But I don’t know if he will ever be able to fully take care of himself. So we do plan on keeping him.
He surprisingly was eating and drinking good this whole time. So that’s a plus. And we are keeping him separate from our personal pet ducks. So sorry about what happened to your baby.
Nothing is broken. They think he got hit by a car and suffered some head trauma. They said to give him a month and if he isn’t better then at that point we need to discuss quality of life. Giving him pain meds and antibiotics. His right wing does have a puncture wound.
He didn’t seem to move around to much through the night. But did eat and drink more. And there was poop around his area. He is still calm which is good. But still can’t stand up.
His feet feel really cold is that normal? The light is pretty far away from him and the low tonight is 38. I’m in FL and we have a cold front coming through. Last night was 31 🥶
We rescued a wild duck. He was on the side of the rd. He can’t stand and when he tries he either falls to the left or the right. Possibly was hit by a car but isn’t covered in blood. We currently have him some duck feed, water and placed a heat lamp for him. He is in a stall in our barn. I also...
