He should be alright as long as the humidity is up. I think you're supposed to leave them be until something like 30-40hrs? After that, you can try helping him out. He'll have to have absorbed that vein by then. Lol.
Are you sure it's a vein? If it's that far out of the shell, maybe some bits just dried darker than the others making it look like it still has blood in it.
Well, I'd say if the bleeding's stopped it should be okay with enough fluids. If not, try dabbing the hurt area with corn/potato starch. I think plain flour or ice water will work, too. What happened to make it bleed?
Losing power again, granny? That's terrible! Remember when I mentioned getting some hand warmers last year? Maybe it's not too late to stock up. It could help with your chicks.
Sorry for not posting on the other thread, btw. My laptop finally died, and I went out and got a new one yesterday...
The neosporin has painkillers in it. Plus, she said I could use tylenol, too. Lol, my house is old as heck, so we don't have central heating/air. Gotta keep that space heater or freeze!
I was only on it for about 30 seconds. I wasn't completely awake, so I didn't notice right away. I'll be fine. The doctor said to just put neosporin on it, and it shouldn't scar.
Today was exciting! I woke up this morning and accidentally leaned against my space heater. I missed school to go to the hospital, and my physician said I managed to give myself 1st degree burn. At least I can get out of gym for a week.
I know what you mean, granny! Sometimes I look back at old pics of the birds, and get disappointed because I don't have one of them anymore, lol. I'm sure he was a pretty boy. Sorry, granny.
Is he show quality? You might be able to make some cash off of him. I don't think show roos are kept with ladies, anyway. Just near them so they get all hyped up for the show, lol.
I still have one hen and one roo out of my OEGs. So I guess I can reestablish a flock out of them. I had to put...
What a stinker! Sorry, granny. What're you gonna do with him?
I lost nearly all my OEGs to the cold a few days ago! I don't know how it is where you're at, but here in VA, it's not supposed to get cold until December! We had one cold night out of all those warms ones, and I lose a whole flock...
Aw, poor little guy! I can't imagine eating such a tiny little thing, anyway. You wouldn't get more than a nugget, lol.
You can try introducing him to a flock, even if it already has a big rooster. Bantam roosters are especially good at adapting when there's a big rooster around, and in my...
