Thank you for your advice....The hen seems to be doing great....I am starting to think is what heat exhaustion, and the others started to peck her...Now she seems to be doing fantastic....BACK TO NORMAL>>>>> once again thank you....
She has been getting pecked at... In fact, she seemed fine this morning, they were all up and about...Then this evening They started pecking at her and she was very lethargic...Have no idea why they would all of a sudden start pecking on her...
8 month old black australorp hen--not sure of her weight..but normal in size with rest of flock...
Today she is not walking, drinking, eating...Very lethargic, Belly feathers gone, and there are no feathers on back close to rear feathers...I looks very very raw..I do have a roo, but this is...
I have all good layers...The eggs have dropped off a little I am sure due to the real high temps....over 100 degrees lately...I am not sure if she has laid any the past few days.....She was in a coop with 12 other hens, and 1 roo....
I am somewhat new to the chicken world...My hen is lethargic, not moving, doesn't seem to be eating/drinking...I separated her in a different coop..I did notice the other hens and roo where picking on her, she has an injury on her back near her tail feathers...Probably from others pecking her...
Thanks shady glade--- They were in the incubator without the turner for approx. 24 hours,. They were 2 day old eggs, that I was turning until my incubator became available for more eggs... Do you think this will affect the hatching....
I have been wanting to sell the eggs online, but not sure how to go about it with the postage....I sell many items on ebay, but with the eggs I don't even know where to begin.....I have to check how much postage will be, and how to properly pack them so they arrive safely...
As for the chicks...
I just had my first hatch 23 chicks out of 26 eggs!!!!
I just put more eggs into the incubator on thursday evening, and just noticed I forgot to plug in the egg turner....HELP--Should I start over or leave them....Will this affect the hatch...
By the way I have someone locally who is wants to...
