    Panacur in water??

@casportpony I'm sorry to trouble you...I've read a lot of threads etc but I'm still a little confused about the dosage for standard chickens to treat roundworms (which I found in the coop when cleaning overnight poop from under roosting bars). For Safe-guard goat 10% (100mg/ml), is it...

    Anyone here use PDZ?

Oh sorry, I'm in Houston, TX. Hot and humid, with occasional deluges. I'm just sharing ideas, not looking to get picked apart. I have only had my chickens for just over 3 months, but I did a lot of research and I've had no problems with my approach. A few other folks in my local facebook...

    Anyone here use PDZ?

My enclosed run has a sand floor (construction sand, on a gravel base) and so in addition to using PDZ under my roosts, I sprinkle PDZ in the sand run to dry it out after a rain (a 25 pound bag from TSC is like $10 and lasts me a couple months). I love love love PDZ and I find that it works...

    Depressed chicken?

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a sick chicken at the beginning, too, similar symptoms, and I later figured she was stressed because I bought her from a feed store and my other 3 pullets from a different source (all on the same day tho and same age)...i.e., she was more stressed by the new...

    Putting new pullets to bed

My first day with my 10-wk old pullets, I let them out of their enclosed run into my fenced-in yard, and then I tried to personally corral them back into the run when evening came. Turns out it's hard to catch a chicken, and they don't like being chased. Finally I got them all in...and by that...

    Someone please help me!!

I think Sevin spray may be ok for the coop/house (um, can you get the chickens out of your house now that they're 7 weeks?), though I use dust in my coop. But on the birds themselves you need to put the dust all over, work it in. And if it were me I'd give Ivermectin, too. Look, what we're doing...

    Someone please help me!!

Have you put Sevin dust (or other poultry dust e.g. with permethrin) on the birds themselves? From what I understand, DE by itself isn't very effective in getting rid of an infestation. I think you need a chemical ON the birds. Also ivermectin could be useful to work from the inside - I think...

    Think these are raspberries!

Those look more like blackberries to me, because of the way they sort of stick up from the branch (my raspberries have always hung down), but either one is great and you'll soon find out! I hope they're sweet, but even if not, you can make delicious jam or baked goods out of them!

    ISO chickens

True, Wabash gets their chicks from Ideal, but from Wabash at least you can buy just a few rather than having to buy a minimum number and cross your fingers that they all survive the shipping. Wabash also raises some of the Ideal chicks themselves and sells them a bit older. I believe...

    I love BYC!

Hello everyone! Thanks for all the invaluable advice I've got from all the articles, questions and answers on this site! I'm brand new to chickens, having just got my first 4 girls two weeks ago: 1x Ameraucana/EE, 1x Silver Laced Wyandotte, 1x Barnevelder and 1x Black Sexlink. They're about...

    ISO chickens

SeaBreeze Hens is great. They are down near League City, not far from Houston, and they also deliver to Houston once or twice a month: http://www.seabreezehens.com/ Also Wabash has some chickens: http://wabashfeed.com/
