Im looking for someone in the Houston area that hatches babies chicks to sell that lay the dark brown, green, and blue eggs. I would rather not order from a hatchery and have to ship them if possible.

If you don't mind driving a couple hours, there's Ideal Hatchery in Cameron TX. They have Ameraucanas. We drove 3 hours to a hatchery in MO to avoid shipping the chicks. Other than that, try Craigslist, or your BYC state thread...
Good luck!

Just an FYI...feed stores and the like...including Seabreeze get their chicks shipped to them.

True, Wabash gets their chicks from Ideal, but from Wabash at least you can buy just a few rather than having to buy a minimum number and cross your fingers that they all survive the shipping. Wabash also raises some of the Ideal chicks themselves and sells them a bit older. I believe Seabreeze buys some but also hatches some of their own. Again, you don't have to deal with the mail service, and you can buy just a few if you want (and at various ages).
