    Pale Comb PICTURE INCLUDED

She's hardly eating and drinking, she just stands there in the run or just lays down in egg laying position. She is still very pale. It's not so hot today like it was the past week. No panting at all today.

Her eyes have always looked like that. She is laying regularly, and not broody. I have a feeling its dehydration. It has been in the 100s. The soil is very arid and I don't think she is getting enough protein from the depleted bug supply. Should I give her something else for that? cat food...

She has been giving pecking orders. The 7 week old chicks are very afraid of her, so they did not sleep together. Any suggestions ? Should I wait until they are almost the same size? problem is our cage won't be big enough.

It has been going well I think. The BR at first would make these deep clucking noises that didn't sound friendly. Then today she did that a little but soon she would just eat grass next to the chicks and follow them. Then she would free range and then come back to eat grass with the chicks and...

Your polite and informative answers was the perfect greeting. Thanks you thou. Your Orp reminds me of one my 4 week old chicks. She is the smallest yet the most greediest, bossiest, and most feisty. She was pecking at the lonely BR's wattle and pulling on her. I freaked out. That is when I knew...

Quote: Thank You SussexInSeattle Questions: Should I place the chicks in their cage inside the coop? or just place the cage with them inside on the grass where the BR free ranges? I did read at the BYC How to Page that method of putting the chick-n-hutch inside in the coop is used, but think...
