    Silkie leg problems?

I did see her eat and drink last night. This morning when I left for work she was sleeping but seemed ok when I talked to her and touched her. When I got home from work she had unfortunately passed away… Thank you very much for all the information and help.

    Silkie leg problems?

I gave her a bath and dried her. It seemed to relax her a lot. I found this towards her tail. I didn’t notice it before. I do believe she’s in the middle of molting and was before her legs started going out. Maybe it’s from pecking during molt? I’m not sure. We made her a sling she seems a lot...

    Silkie leg problems?

No lice or mites. I trim her nails a little at a time because they do bleed even when taking a little off. I clean feet and check for bumblefoot often and she’s never had any problems. She’s always walked just like my other silkies fine until Friday. The foot she was holding out on Friday has...

    Silkie leg problems?

Last night before bed I checked on Maria she was sitting up drinking a lot. This morning she has poop all over her and the cage and she’s just in the corner. The “splits” is very present this morning. She is eating eggs but won’t sit up. I try to put her legs back under her, but she’ll flap her...

    Silkie leg problems?

Ya I put her in a crate shortly after noticing something was wrong. I put low dose baby aspirin in her water for pain. It’s starting to get cold here so I put low heat on her since she’s alone. She’s just laying right next to the heat with that one leg out. Anything else I can do for a slipped...

    Silkie leg problems?

Day before yesterday all was fine. Then when we get home from work I notices one of my silkies with a leg that seems to be in the extended locked position. She will attempt to run from the other chickens but doesn’t seem to put any real weight on it. We’ve checked her range of motion and...

    Polish attacked by dog

Thank you. You don’t think it looks infected already? I think it looks more yellow than it did yesterday. I did spray blu-kote on the whole area after I took the picture.

    Polish attacked by dog

Hello, my polish was attacked by the neighbors dog last night. It doesn’t seem too bad, she just seemed more scared than anything. She does have a minor puncture wound under one of her wings and missing lots of feathers and skin irritation in that area. Any recommendations on treating her? We...

Chicken sneezing and making weird sounds

I checked on her this morning and didn’t hear anything but it was sleeping. I have been home with her for about an hour now and I haven’t heard her sneeze or make any kind of strange sound. She never ate her scrambled eggs, but I just let her out of the pen (she’s been in all night and day away...
