  • I saw your thread in the ''what breed or gender is this'' section. Shirley may very well be a black sexlink, I have a bunch of them, they're very friendly, good natured birds. Mine love to hop on my lap, and try to eat my buttons, nails, and anything else that's shiny. :-D I love watching mine forage too, it's so funny!
I haven't updated my journal in a few days, so it's a little behind. I'll try to add more soon!
    You too!
Your chicks are growing so fast! Looks like you have some partridge rocks there. What breeds are they again?
    :-D
Only now is my Lilac bush starting to get buds on it!! You guys are so far ahead of us in temps. LOL
Enjoy all those flowers and spring days!! :-)
You must have lots of flowers blooming for all those bees!! We have some flowers starting to bloom here. We had a good 24 hour rain here yesterday and the day before. I am sure the flowers will begin bursting soon. I swear I can see the grass growing out there right now from all the rain. We had been so dry up til the other day!! LOL
Have a lovely day and watch out for those bees!! :-)
Hi Meg! You have grasshoppers already?! None here yet. I am sure my chickens are waiting for them to start hopping however. LOL I have seen a few butterflies and a couple of bees, but that is about it. LOL Still raining here. Everything is getting a good drink.
Have a lovely day my dear! :-)
Hello there! How have you been doing? How is the flock? Hopefully the weather is cooperating with you these days. Raining here today, but we sure do need it!
Take care and have a wonderful rest of the day!!! :-)
I'm doing fine, (just a little tired from staying up to late)
My chicks are growing fast too (except for one that was the last to hatch and is about half the size as the others). Sorry about Connie, I think I only have 8 pullets, and 13 roosters. :/ At least we will have plenty of chicken. I hate the mud too, last winter we had like 8 inches of mud around where we fed hay to the cows. It's been pretty dry lately, so thankfully most of it has dried up. Have a great evening.
