yesterday I grabbed a bag of stock and stable sweet feed, thinking it would be a nice treat for my chickens, as my sister in law daily gives her chickens a handfull of sweet mix (different kind than what I bought), and I thought it would be a nice change from the usual scratch I throw them in...
Well I did it! Whew, I hope I never have to do that again! But at least I was prepared thanks to BYC! She was completely ready to hatch, blood vessels were receded, yolk was fully absorbed, she was just plain stuck in the wrong position..My only worry now is that she maybe got chilly, but...
Ok, it has been less than 12 hours since it pipped, so I think I am going to wait it out a bit longer..Just concerned with her zipping down the egg instead of around the top, and the discoloration of the membrane had me a little worried as well..thank you for your input! :)
First time hatching and the last egg in this batch seems to be having some issues! As much as I want to help, I don't want to do more harm than good, so can you please tell me if this is ok or if I need to help!? I can see her little beak popping up and down, but she hasn't made any progress for...
