How Old Before U Know Gender of Ameraucanas?

Hi, I hatched some “ameruacana’s” the chicks parents were supposed to be “Ameruacana” but I’m well aware they may be Easter eggers now. They do all lay the right shade of blue and have the fluffy cheek gene but the feather colors don’t really match SOP Ameruacana. I hatched some chicks from...

Gender of 6/7 week old polish & buff orpington

To me, both polish look like they could be cockerels. Female’s will have rounded feathers as well as a much more rounded shaped crest. The roosters typically have very pointy ends to their feathers. Check out their crest feathers, hackle feathers, saddle feathers & lastly their tail feathers. I...

Early guesses? 3 week old polish sexing

I’m not an expert but I do keep & breed my polish & I say you have a cockerel but gold laced polish can be very tricky. I do see some pointy ends to his feathers on his crest & maybe the tail as well. @Saraschickens

All birds in this pen do lay blue eggs, but two are missing muffs/beards - except for the two in the picture. I’m just trying to gauge what...

Buff silkie roo crossed with a black silkie hen.

This is an old post but I do know that crossing a white silkie to a black silkie will produce paint chicks, as far as breeding a black to a buff I would expect it to be mixture of the two colors in one bird, with that being said I’m not 100% sure on that one but I’d love to know what color...
