Yeah. I'm hoping to double my flock next spring.
I have one hen from a breeder friend who said she went broody twice this year (spring and summer) and I'm hoping for my frizzle to go broody. I also have four comets and hope that at least one of them goes broody.

Oh, good that's what I told DH. ;-) lol
Anyway, she just hatched this spring, so I've got a long while yet. I might keep one in a year or two; maybe I'll keep one a year. I think I can talk DH into that. lol

Cool!! I'm not 100% sure what the average chicken lives but I think like 3-6 years

Same as me and Snoodle.
I'll probably keep one of her peeps when she gets a little older.
Come to think of it, I don't even know how long chickens live. Hmmm. Do you know?

I won't be getting any more soon so yes I'm just keeping her for a pet.

Yeah, we all hated it for him. As much as he was macho and farmer about it, we knew he hated to let her go.
Are you going to get more rabbits or are you just keeping her for a pet?

We had one we were sure my dad was going to keep. She was a ... I think Nubian IDK she was white with pink eye; anyway, her name was Nuzzie (I guess that's about how he would have spelled it). Oh, maybe she was a New Zealand.
He ended up selling her with the others.
